    the mighty advertising dollar

does anyone else find it a little disturbing that there is a banner ad on a "Land Rover" forum advertising Jeep?
I know a buck is a buck, but doesn't contravene the whole purpose behind AULRO?

It's OK sometimes it says Toyota and when I just looked now it was for Peugeot (which at least has the same engine as a D4).

    Got to laugh sometimes though

Either have a Jeep advert, or much increased subs, or no forum.

Running a site of this nature is neither cheap nor easy.

The purpose of the site is not compromised in any way by the adverts used to pay for it.

Aside from the fact that if it doesn't have a Land Rover badge I wouldn't even see the ad, lets face it no one here is likely to actually buy a Jeep or Proton.

get a few quotes on a hosting dishing out 1.6TB of data a year then add $7K for the box to push it out the door....

if not for the adverts the place would be dead...

Do google ads pay based on site traffic or people who click on the ads (i.e. does it help you if we click on the banner ads???).

To be honest I rarely notice them.

Yes clickthroughs, as they are known, do help. So does mentioning you saw an ad on AULRO when you talk to suppliers.
