I've got a way to go yet ... six have left home ... one's in Melbourne, two in Geelong, one in Colac, one in Chile, one in Finland ...that leaves just six to go ... tho one is getting married in May. My youngest turns twenty in the year I turn 70!

But we love it ... having them al together at one time rarely happens, but every family gathering is great fun with kids and grandkids everywhere! And there's a new grandkid arriving in the next week or so. Life doesn't get boring here!

A former colleague raised 5 kids from his first two marriages and is now in his third marriage (slow learner). Every time one of them felt all grown up and horny and left home to try life in a flat or share house or to shack up, he moved to a smaller house. He reckons this is the way to go. Smaller, cheaper house and invest the change, no room for the departed sibling to return home. "You left, you're on your own now. Sorry, no room back here. Buy your own toothpaste, toilet, paper, tampons, etc. Join the real world." Now he lives with Mark III in a two bedroom unit on the water at Redcliffe without his five well adjusted responsible kids who have made their own way out of necessity.

I moved out - and moved in with the Mrs and her family. Any young people think living away from home is hard? Try living with your mother in law!

Once I left home, mum felt that one out was close enough to two out and told my sister that she was getting rid of the rental in Sydney and moving to the farm permanently!

No waiting around for us kids!
