    Diesel rover mechanics in Nth Adelaide

    Hi guys & gals

    I looked in the preffered suppliers list and it's last entry is 2006, so was after some more up to date info.

    A mate has a diesel disco (300tdi I think) and lives in the northern part of Adelaide.

    He is looking for someone to service and maybe add some more power for towing his camper trailer.

    Who can you recommend?

    Does it have to be northern Adelaide? If he can get it more into central Adelaide then I'd be saying PCB Land Rovers, near the Airport. PCB Landrovers Homepage

    They did my 300TDi Disco and it def goes harder, but it has a slight diesel haze when you go flat out (more noticable at night in the headlights of any following vehicles).

    Fuel consumption has not changed noticably, but I guess it is worse as it's putting out more power.

    The only guy I know about on the northern side is Kym from Land Rangers in Pooraka (Main Morth Road), and there is another guy Hobbo at Lynda's Land Rovers but I have never used them. Kym is good, but only ever used him for parts.

    No problems. If he is mechanically minded there are a number of tutorials on the internet of how to tweak it yourself.

    I was having mine serviced by PCB so I just got them to to it whilst it was in there.

    Do you want me to try and find the articles on how to DIY? I think it was on a UK website, from memory...

    Don't worry about finding the articles, he doesn't want to be working on the disco. He would rather get it done.

    Best place be TRS at Lonsdale.
    Get the intercooler, silicone hose upgrade and pump tweak done at same time.
    Around $1000 from memory and will make a nice difference.
    I did mine there and later took it to a Diesel specialised tuner.
    EGT at 550 and now spools up quicker and has heaps more torque.
    Well, noticeably anyhow.

    LR trained mechanic. Evidently he used to work for LR in the UK, before moving out here.

    You can try a place behind Main North Motors - sorry I can't remember the company name (maybe "ALL 4x4 Mechanicals") but the guy to talk to is Howard. corner of main north road & whittington st Enfield - near Gepps Cross - on the left heading into the city - drive up whittington & on the right, directly behind Main Norths, white fence & gates. Not a landrover expert but been working on 4x4's & diesels for a long time, mainly Toyotas & Nissans. He's worked on my Rangie & Disco2 in the past. He has a red turbo diesel land cruiser 80(?) series

    I used him many times.

    His name is Brenden and they just moved out to North east road.

    Good bloke, a tad messy. Good prices.
    He will not do a tweak on pump etc.
    I asked him and is happy for you to go to TRS instead or somewhere similar.
