Done with messing with conversions Lardy.
I doubt the replacement will see any real 4x4 work.I think this beast has only done 3 serious off road outings since buying it from RichardK.

try redbook.com.au for checking prices I always find it if not right, then in the ballpark, it gives you a rough idea.

    Andrew,
You don't realize how lucky you are.

Half the blokes on this forum would kill to have a SWMBO to have the passion about a RR/LR.

It doesn't matter if a RR is getting on a bit. Such a great vehicle and if she loves it, spend what is needed to bring it up to scratch and keep it.

    Dave.

Hey, g'day Pirate, haven't heard from you in ages, I should have contacted you ages ago as well, I couldn't get to check out the HF, I sold that D3 and bought a new one, got the radio installed but not the aerial until I can get a RWC. Still got the Defender?

Andrew, I still miss the old girl but time..........................just not enough of it

Great to hear from you again Pirate.
Yep got myself a NICE D2 that I abuse no end.
Deb needed a new vehicle and we ended up with Richards Rangie, the white "Tractor"
My boy has 6 months before he gets his L plates.

Great to Hear from you both so quickly (do live on here )

Well I am in same 01 Defender.... all ready for the desert with a spare set of steel wheels, full ARB rack, bead breaker, built in compressor, HF etc etc etc etc .

    But now:

    a. the wife is NOT interested in travelling anywhere in the LR..full stop

    b. the wifes idea of camping, is only going 4Star

    c. my best mate has gone soft and wont go anywhere in anything less comfortable than his new TD Landcruiser!!!

So I am toying with upgrading to something else maybe a toy like yours Rich!!

The Defender is still in pretty good condition and has all the options, manuals, +gear so it shouldnt be hard to move. (Kev said I should get a good number for it)

Yes Rich we should schedule a time to chat on the HF, I still havent got the hang of the Codan NGT!!!

    Catch ya later

HAHA Great stuff. Yeah these site can take a fair bit of Time. Dave has done a sterling job.

I remember when Bigbugger took over things? Is he around? He was up north last I heard.

    Cheers

No, he sold off his Defender, it was a sad story and has business commitments. Last I heard I think he had a Navara but haven't heard from him in a long time.

Will give you a call when I get back from the High Country
