Time to consider a new vehicle

Its time to start looking at upgrading Debs Rangie.
Its good for around town, but as its getting on a bit and not the ideal car for her to travel to Perth in.She loves it!!!!There is a fair chance of alot more travel to Perth in the future as her mother is not getting any younger and Lindsay only has 2 years of high school and wants to go to Uni.
I suggested a dualcab as she is always carting gardening gear around in the Rangie(she is a school gardener and also has her own gardening jobs). We once had an older Trytoo, which she liked as it drove exceptionaly well on gravel, but that is all I would credit the thing with.Trouble is all the jap dualcabs are garbage, perhaps with the exception of a few of the latest models.
I doubt a Defender is in the picture after owning a Rangie!!!!!
Another D2 is out as she doesnt like the lack of vision in mine.A D3 is a possability as it has better vision, but she says they are ugly.
She would like another Rangie P38a is out as she wants a diesel, she likes the look of the P38a.L322s are expensive,$40000 for a cheapie.I told her that would rule out carrying your whipper snipper in it,as you wouldnt throw one on a leather lounge.
Praydoo, pootrol, cruiser arent a consideration unless she is stupid enough to look at one. After 21 years I can say I know her well enough!!!
So Ford Ranger/BT50/Trytoo Dcab in the 2008+(wouldnt consider any others)
Rangie in the 2002/2004 age??? around the same cost.
Cant see her wanting to go into debt for that much over a car,so I guess she may have to await the lotto god too!!!!

I got a spin in a BT50 last week . The turbo diesel version and they go great guns . Also love the new triton as well . Plus the Triton can come with a standard rear locker and 2 inch life .

After having a RR,it would be hard to cop a bouncy dual cab.

    Maybe keep the RR.

I know a guy who has had a L322 since new,has had heaps of trouble with it.
The last episode was 16k to fix the auto

I was in the same boat with the D1,sold it and bought the L322 with the TD6,best vehicle bare none.I can carry everything for a weekend away with the kids without a problem and it gets unbelievable mileage, sitting on 140 across the nulaboring it still got 10.4ltres per hundred.I don't believe the nightmare stories, how can an auto cost 16k???,a reco exchange from ZF is $7500.I would spend the dollars as I'm keeping mine till it hits the 250,000K mark and it would pay itself off buy then,10ltres average usage,20K oil changes it's cheap motoring for the quality of the ride and comfort. The only blemish is it doesn't like the relay tower at the top of town but asking around so does alot of other cars.I'll keep my defender till 2012 and then buy the last of the breed. P38a is her next choice!!!!!
Did see a 2001 HSE listed in Perth for $20000,she mentioned thats more like it.
