It'll never work ... Bung em in the Post to me, and I'll send you a set of sheep skin covers ....![]()
Hello,
I've got quite knackered cloth seats in my 88 RRC, i also have a good set of electric leather seats, i don't want the electrics on the basis of a massive pain to get them working and i simply can't be bothered with that much mucking around, so last night Mrs Rayngie comes up with the idea of simply taking the leather off, and swapping it onto the manual seats.
Now I understand they are slightly different, but not much, I'd have some holes to cover up where the controls are etc, and probably have to make some holes wher the manual adjustment is as well, I'm in no way expecting a fantastic job, but the question is, how hard to get the fabrics off is it?, had a quick look last night at the leather ones and they actually seem quite simple to pull apart.
Any thoughts?
cheers,
Ray

Just as I was about to post them to you, I've found a post on a UK website where some one has done just this...sorry about that.
Still, would liek to hear if some one here knows a thing or two to look out for.
surely it wouldn't be hard to wire up a pair of electric seats?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Did'nt go down the electrics track as i'm missing some bits, and i have no mind for electricals, however, went down the strip and swap track last night, turns out it's really easy, about an hour and a half per chair, nothing too tricky, 5 years between the cars the seats came out of and everything just slotted in, now have leather seats!
So i have a load of bits anyone is welcome to, perfectly good cloth rear seats, o.k fronts, plus electric seat bases for the fronts and a bunch of wires, anyone wants it, come grab it or it goes in the bin next week.
cheers,
Ray
