Hi Don,
I have the exact same phone, been dropped, and generally given a hard time. It still works 100% OK.
I would say take it back, again, ask for the manager, and explain.
I changed to a Telstra/zte 165i because of the external aerial and better reception, but this is the third one to just switch off with no warning and with the battery meter showing full only a couple of hours before. They keep replacing the phone with a 'new' one, but i'm getting sick of the inconvenience of it all. Anyone else on here had any experience with these things? Don

A few here have had the same trouble. Keep taking it back. Are they giving you a complete new phone when you do or is something shifty going on.
Yes , they're giving me a new one each time. They still have the scratch protector on the screen. I know I could just charge it often enough to overcome the problem, but I don't think I should accept a new phone that has a design fault. Now I'm beginning to wonder if the're all like that. Don.
Mine is fine too ....
have you found the ZTE forum ??? maybe ask there too.
(it seems that it has recently crashed and I'm not a member anymore)
I went through 3 of them crap phones, I told them (Telstra) to give me a phone that worked or I would go to the Ombudsman and get the contract cancelled, 2 days later a Courier delivered a brand new LG phone worth around $700 no charge, Regards Frank.
We use them for work & THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My post from an earlier thread
" I had the later ZTE165i and was very impressed with its performance. Unfortunately it was let down by poor software issues. The phone went back to Telstra 3 times . Each time I got a new 165i which subsequently failed. 1st phone suffered a terminal software failure, 2nd phone destroyed SIM cards within 2 hours of picking it up from Telstra and the 3rd phone never left the telstra store as it rattled.
In the end Telstra were good about it and honoured the Multiple Equipment Failure policy and I opted for a Samsung. I feel that ZTE (which I believe Telstra have significant interest in) isn't very mature product yet."
I haven't heard of any ZTE gear being at least half decent. Check out the forums on Whirlpool Broadband News to get an idea of what this brand is like.
If the speed of light = 299,792,458 m/s, what is the speed of dark?
i have the 165 and it is crap, in the day light you cant see the screen have been back to telstra 3 times and they wont do any thing about it![]()
I have had one for nearly 2 years with no dramas at all. Best reception in out of the way places
