    That sick feeling...

I had an original and mostly restored Daimler Sovereign XJ6 Series 3, which I sold a few months back to a friends younger brother/his dad for $2k. It needed some further work done, I didn't have the time to finish it due to holidays and moving away, so accepted the best offer at the time.

My neighbour who works in the mines in WA for a weeks at a time just called around with a Chrissy hamper and thought the Daimler was in the garage seeing as it wasn't in the usual spot. He just offered me $11k cash for it, and I'm feeling utterly sick right now...he'd never mentioned he was interested, otherwise I'd have held onto it for him. I am hating myself SOOOOOO much right this second!!!

Yep, worst thing is that's the 2nd time I've been under pressure to sell an old collectable project, and had a massive offer afterwards. BIG lesson to be learned.

I've been looking for one for a while, IMHO Daimlers are so much nicer than Jag's

Here's some pics of the old girl anyway... The reason why the front-end is sitting so high in the pics is because it was on vehicle stands for a while and hadn't been driven around to compress the shockers.

Depending on condition - $2K was way too low but likewise $11K is a bit high but hey - if someone was prepared to pay that why not.

    They are nice cars though.

Just spotted your pics - nice condition

Yeah... Well in all fairness I had to sell it asap due to moving interstate, needed the space for renovations asap, didn't have the time to finish it off, and these cars are a bit too specialised to sell immediately. I'd had it advertised for a while n no bites, so took the best offer at the time. Totally regretting 'knocking it on the head' with hindsight mate...

My thoughts exactly! Let me know when you got another cheap collectable first

Mind you, old vehicles are hard to price, as mentioned here, it depends on the person buying it.
