No my point was, can you list the common problems with the 200 tdi, you can’t because there are none. But with a 300 tdi we can list. Vac pump, warped head, head gasket, P gasket. Now the 200 is a bit down on power compared to the 300 but then the 300 has a bit more boost. Something quickly fixed in the 200. I also suspect that the 200 may be a bit more tractable than the 300, just a feeling. when doodling around a few bumps and holes, the old farts in the 200s seem to toddle over challengers where the 300s seem to be at it with a hand full of revs and wheel spin. but then that could just be the old farts in there 200s just knowing what they are doing

My 300 has 423,000k's on it and never causes me any drama at all and early on in it's life it worked for it's dinner,it's factory stock except for the D/Gas system and it done wonders for it's drivability, mine has no trouble pulling from idle in third around town and it hits 125k's/hr in fifth with 33'' tyres.I will be the first to admit that it does lack torque while towing but you never see cruiser and patrol owners using thier power advantage as they really use fuel if they do so the Tdi is good comprimise, the Td5 is better and from what owners have said the puma is better again but the Tdi,both types really have served Land Rover and thier owners well, and I might add still will for a while yet. I voted for the 200Tdi. It was a tough choice as all of them are great powerplants, but if I had no Isuzu to choose from, and had to pick a 110 Tdi defender to own, it would be the last of the 1993/94 200Tdi with disc brake rear and A/C.
I have a few customers with that exact vehicle, and all have been some of the most reliable of all the vehicles we work on.

    Frugal, simple and strong.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Saw a great car sticker the other day...." I'd rather be an old fart then a young dickhead "

i`ve got to go with the v8. in a range rover its the only engine that suits the car.my favourite is the 3.5 efi. strong reliable engine with good power the best fuel economy of the v8s and a nice simple efi system. i`ve converted two carby range rovers to efi and it makes a big improvement.
