    Roo Shooter caught at Bendethra

Some Moron was photographed and reported to Police and NPWS for shooting a Kangaroo in the camping area at Bendethra NP on the South Coast of NSW..
Seeing as they sit alongside the road as you drive past only metres away, marksmanship didn't come into it.
This idiot was convicted and fined $1500 in Queanbeyan local court, his firearms were also confiscated.
I despair for Bendethra, it's Idiots like this that will see Bendethra closed, this person was reported by a fellow 4wdriver and good on him/her.
I only wish that the court had published this shooter's name so as I could shame him even more, Regards Frank.

Bendethra certainly attracts more than its fair share of nimrods. Perhaps because it's a fair trip in there these dopes think they can get away with it.

All we can do is keep on dobbing them in. Doesn't feel right, but without a ranger station down there, it's all we can do to protect the place.

Gee, what a heinous crime- shooting a roo. Must have been one of the last left in the country, they're so rare.
Should've shot a koala- they taste better.

It is not what he shot that is the issue.

It is where he shot it.

Few people have a problem with shooting feral cats, but you try shooting one in the CBD of any of our capital cities and see if you get away with it.

I would miss it if it was closed.

Apart from the fact that it is almost on my doorstep - about 70km; even before I went there I had read in a couple of books that it had some of the best bush camping in NSW, and it's true.

Wrong. The heinous crime was taking a gun into the National Park, and risking access for law abiding recreationalists like me and you, who like to spend time in the bush without shooting at it.

Time and place. Nothing I love more than a shoot, but not in a NP!

Lucky you're not in Victoria, you can't even get from one legal area to another without crossing a NP.

Quite right, I don't shoot in a NP, but if they checked my vehicle

Personally I think shooting any native animal is a crime AND shooting just for the sake of it, OR for so called fun, no worse than those clowns found running over Wombats really.

Just a different way of killing
