    Merry Christmas from UpOver

As we sit here on Christmas Eve with the log fire blazing and the snow drifted a couple of foot in the garden, the turkey outside in the temporary fridge otherwise known as the porch, carols from Kings College playing on the telly and am I jealous of you lot - not half, I reckon most of you will be waking to temperatures in double figures above zero not like double figures below . UK has ground to halt over the past couple of days cos of snow and ice and having a Landy doesn't always help when the roads are stuffed with buses and numpties who can't drive up hills in snow.

    Have a very Merry One

    All the best

    Barbara and Brendan

One year Mum convinced me to visit her for Christmas. Never again. Freezing cold, slush everywhere, I got a terrible cold etc. you get the picture.

There again, Christmas morning I looked out the bedroom window and the snow was just falling down very gently, slowly settling on the trees and covering the ground. Perfect. No, I don't have pics

This year it will be May for my visit. I reckon that May and June are the best times. April is still unsettled, July is into the silly (crowds) season.

Looks like we'll be having a tranparent or opaque Christmas, just started raining here. Have a good one all.

Wishing for rain here - and it should arrive later - badly needed, too many fires around.

    Forecast
Cloudy, with rain developing from late morning onwards. Moderate southerly winds, becoming fresh to strong near the coast during the afternoon. max 26.

    Looking good

Well it is now Christmas morning here. Looking out of the window it is very much a black and white view. All fields covered in snow, trees look black, dry stone walls a strange black and white mosaic and the black ute has a good covering of snow.

At back of house the red 110 resembles a snow mound with just the UHF aerial sticking up out of it.

The Disco won't be too bad as it is parked around the back, but we have not had much snow overnight.

Happy Land Rovering New Year everyone

    Brendan and Barbara

PS Black ute = Black 110 utility wagon comes into the lower road fund tax bracket of £195/year in comparison to £440 for new CSW . Barbara calls the Ute, Tilly and likes the heater in it as it actually works!
