yep was just out in shed doing that mike.
when i put the motor in it had the water pump off a red 179 & it wasnt doing a gread deal the new 1 is off the blue 202 VH commodore but i couldnt fit the spacer it was to big & i think it was the small 1 so i will have to find a smaller 1 or make a spacer any ideas on that one cause if i make 1 doesnt it have to have a bit that also goes threw the fan not just a flat washer/spacer the fan is bolted straight to the pully & pump nothing in between.plus i have to becareful cause of the power steering pump.this is what it looks like now..

if the longer spacer is too long take it to someone with a lathe and get them to part it off at the length you want.
then you just need 4 bolts to suit.

Fit a shroud, also fitting a cooler thermostat is a waste of time, if you have heating issues, you have heating issues, cooler thermostats don;t fix it.........but faulty thermostats can cause it:D

That fan pictured is doing bugger all about sucking air through the radiator. It should be 1/2" to 1" from the core.

also need to cotact you again later brian for some more taps the last 1 i brought was so handy..

Got the fan moved forward now,that blade with the white paint scribble is the closest at the bottom its about 10mm on the plus side off rad.but because of the way the engine sits in there they are ferther from rad at top on an angle its not the fan its just the way the engine sits..havent started the shroud as i think i mite pay to get it tuned maybe dyno tuned to make sure everything is set properly including the timming as the crank & cam are none standard...what do use recon..:D:D:D:D

10mm sounds too close. If you hit a large bump or leap over a rise it may contact. To counter the fan being out of line you might be able to extend the top mounts and trim the top hose. I would go for a fan with more blades and I think the plastic shroud off a 6 cylinder Series 3 would be able to be trimmed to fit.

Dyno tuning sounds pretty flash for a red motor, maybe a bit over the top, unless it's free of course:D

na its a blue 202 with a none standard crank & cam & sofar know 1 has been able to help getting the timming dead right ,as for the crank & cam they could be a stage 1,2,3 who knows, if it goes for a dyno they mite be able to help who knows ..
either that or i just get rid of it & i am so close to that its not funny...

mite put it on fleebay tomorrow see what sorta offers i get..can you still advertise to swap on fleebay ?????

If its a "non-standard" crank, it would be a stroker crank, in which case its very easy to find out, just pull a plug, wind it over and check the stroke length;)

Cam canbe done with a dial indicator, but its a little more indepth
