Not much, Phil has obviously made an offer, nice dude from what I've met of him and someone has taken it as he's trying to advertise
He adds alot to this board, so a little bending of the rules should be ok, I'm guilty of the same:D

Ok i moved the fan forward & it is just under an inch off rad the 1 blade that was closer i bent back to same as others,..havent put a shroud on yet as thought it would be best to wait till i could get a bigger fan...
So i took it for drive today for about 20,,25 mins the electric temp gauge now reads 170 as oposed to the 150 & the dash gauge is on the top side of the N as aposed to midle of the N before i moved the fan. & you can smell that its HOT & i can barely touch the radiator its that hot.
I never had this trouble with the yellow 1 & it had bigger driving lights on the front although it did have a holden rad in it..
THANX to phil for the offer but to change the engine again i would have to reengineer the engine & get another blue slip otherwise i would just do that.plus my budget is about the size of an 8th of a shoe string..
could be engine but i dout it as it was running good for rego then i thought i would check (do) timming & a bit of tuning thats how we found that the crank & cam are not origanal..could be radiator as i still think its way to small..
I have now had enough & i am putting it on ebay & here first thing in the morning..
i have spent inexcess of $10.000 & some1 can have it for $8.000.
no i not advertizing here it will be in the market place ..just making a statement..
I now have no idea what to do so it goes.you would think i could get it right after 5 other serries rovers woundnt ya..just shoot me now..:spudnikshooter::spudnikboil::spudnikboil::sp udnikboil::spudnikboil:
Jason,
I noticed in your photos of the original post that the top hose on the radiator goes into the middle of the top tank and not to the side, opposite side to the bottom hose.
Because of this, could it be possible that you are not getting water flowing through the whole core and only half the core?
Dave.
yeah dave i am starting to think that myself..i just dont have the money to keep playing with it anymore..so it will probably go.some1 will sort it out....
Getting a Radiator place to shift the outlet and a new hose would not cost much.
I would try this and then if it doesn't work get rid of it.
Dave.
yeah that would be nice to have that done but unfortunatly my shoe strill not that long now,,
What is a "Shoe Strill"?
Dave.
See i told use its doing me head in.its turned me into a jibbering idiot....
Well i took everyones advise i reset the timing i moved the fan forward & i took the driving light off & went for a drive around the block as such its a big block 10 min drive & it still got HOT the only thing i didnt do was fit or make a cowl, dont think it would make any differance anyway...i have had enough now & i am puting it the markets for $7500 with heating isuses.someone els can deal with it i just want to get the wife a little car to run around in now as her car wont pass rego again...OR i could just hand the plates in & have it sit in the shed for the next ten years,no differant to what it is at the moment..
You know the funny thing it was running prety good when we registered it we was driving it for a little while then we thought well lets git it a tune, new plugs, whole new ignision ,coil ,cap leeds.tune the carby because it was blowing little smoke bugger all realy..ever since then never has run all because we set the timing right ..the plug leeds where all on the wrong way back to front as such 1 was at the 6 position..
Shame i just cant aford to do anymore to it so it goes, only thing that will get to me is if someone sorts it out easy & i have to watch it drive by me that will get to me forsure...
Hey Banjo
Have you tried running with no thermostat just as a trial????
I would, then put a new one in making sure its in the correct direction. Also drill a 1/4 hole in its face plate. If you are having issues with air in the cooling system it will collect at the thermostat, air trapped there will prevent the thermostat from opening regardless of the coolant temp and condition of the thermostat.
GOODLUCK
Andrew
