    My son lives next door, in Oulu in Finland. It was minus 10C when I rang him this morning - colder than the inside of my freezer!

    I have a Scottish friend who reckons at least in Scotland you rug up to go to work and stay that way all day. Here in winter you rug up, and peel layers off until by lunch-time you're sweating. I tend to agree with him, I can cope with the cold as long as it doesn't go below 20*C.
