Is anyone running a Dual timing A & R Power Amp on their LPG Disco?
I just got some leads from these guys and was looking at their dual timing set up for LPG and petrol. Was wondering if anyones used one, did it work? Was it easy to tune the timing with? Did it last?
Here's a link to the ebay ad V8 Engine Land Range Rover LPG Ignition Discovery RPI - eBay Ignition Systems, Ignition, Charging, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 10-Jan-10 02:29:36 AEDST)
If anyone else wants one, or anything else from them, it may be cheaper to combine postage with me, and then get me to post it to you.

Why don't you go down to your LPG installer & show the item to them & ask thier opinion. I'm pretty interested as my Landie only needs ignition advancing & I'm sure it will get much better performance & economy on LPG, it runs really well on petrol & I dont want to upset the status quo.
I know when it was fitted nothing like this was available.

I thought my RPI unit was working ok but it was taken off by a Landrover mechanic. I do not think he understood how it worked as he had his theory back to front. It retards the timing when you change to petrol. Anyway I went to Perth and back to Brisbane without it and the engine worked fine . But I only did about 300k on petrol. It did feel the same as before it was removed. Not much of a problem advancing the ignition 12 degrees on a low comp engine for LPG but you may need it if you have a high comp engine. I have been to these blokes in England and they do seem to know what they are on about. They use the unit on their hot V8's.

So not worth it on a stock 3.5 V8?
