    G4 SWB

Heading on to the Sothern express way yesterday I spotted a funny colored swb s3 I think. Got a bit closer and saw G4 on the back. Any one know anything? I always thought the G4 were 109s

After the demise of the Land Rover association with the camel trophy event, they later started their own race called the G4 Challenge. It used whatever vehicle they wanted to promote for that year, painted in Tangiers Orange.

Too late for it to be a genuine series vehicle. If it was a defender, then yes probably

Of course a series vehicle painted up in G4 livery wouldn't look bad at all...

Then it wasn't an Isuzu then. And yes they were all 109"s.

Landies and bright colours are a good match. Think game yellow.

My Brutus build is planned to be Tangiers Orange. Although nearly every comp car I have seen lately has been some sort of orange, from hiluxes to home painted POS. Might change and go Zermatt silver like the original Tombie.

there is a pic in the forum of a county green/ brown, but i cant remember what thread, looked nice in a fresh difrent sort of way

SWMBO thinks the county should be painted like a tiger, light yellow at the bootom to a red at the top complete with stripes. im thinking about it

I doubt it was a G4 as I think all G4 Defenders have been 110s and there are two in Australia. one in SA the other I think in Vic. Maybe it was just painted orange. Anyway the best place to ask is here:

No intentions to be a smartarse, but... the original TR paint work is Bonatti Grey, nothing else.

    Cheers

There have been a number of 'G4' edition vehicles produced... IIRC - Defender & Disco only.

They would be either 90, 110 or Disco 2 (I don't think there were any others), they would come in either Yellow, Orange or Black and have small G4 decals on the front wings.

Sounds like you may have seen one of them...
