    Global Warming???? Not here!

Gosh, what a winter we are having! The fourth blizzard or so this season, plenty of snow, temperatures below -20 degrees, strong winds... every day we have to dig trenches just to be able to leave the house and get to the garage, wood storage shed and the like. Some drifts in our garden (and across the drive way) exceed 1.5m in height. To get down to the barn where we store the main part of our fire wood I had to get through waist-high drifts.
Unfortunately the Disco still isn't roadworthy, so I have to drive along in the TR, which is less convenient as it gets rather chilly inside the cab at temperatures below -5 degrees. Of course you expect scraping some ice from the windshield, but not on the inside...
On the other hand, now is the time when any 4x4-driver is all the other motorist's friend, and it makes one feel good if you can pull out another stuck vehicle from a drift, or even out of a ditch. A few days ago I even pulled out a tractor that was stuck. Good ol' Defender!

I know, you want to see some pics, but I tell you, at -20 degrees you simply don't want to freeze your fingers, and when doing the tractor job it was almost dark anyway. Anyway, I'll see if I can upload some nice winter time pics the next few days.

...and now off to a cosy place in front of a log fire (and a wee dram).
    Cheers
    Johannes

The warming has been sent to Adelaide for the last week or two

39 today, then 41 for Sat, Sun AND Mon.....

If you could send some cooling over this way, we'd appreciate it a lot!

Now now, we don't have global warming any more since there is questionably no real scientific proof.... It's called "climate change" instead

Mate, bolt a pot belly stove into the Defender, then cut a hole in the roof
for the chimley and direct it towards the winscreen !!!
You could then also have hot water on tap for a brew up, eh.

Only a cool 44 here at work today - well that's what the forecast is saying anyway. It's usually 3 or 4 degrees higher than the Fortescue top where we are.

Looking forward to a cooler 41 on Monday.
    Cheers .........
