And You Thought It Was Hot

Well, it has been hot up here, but officially now it was 53degC in Hopetoun last Wed when the birds died. The met web site still says 48degC but just on the news it was confirmed it did actually reach 53. Now anyone that knows the SW coast of WA will know that is a record. Average summer day down there is about 25degC.
No wonder the poor birds died.
Have only encountered that sort of heat up North.

I used to encounter it fairly often in Saudi Arabia and come to think of it... not too many birds over there....
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Nah it was only ever 51C in Riyadh , because at 52C all the Koreans and Pakistanis who worked outside got to knock off.

Funny but it never seemed to get to 52.

It was interesting in the new Embassy because the aircon was set to cut out at 45C,so the building manager had to employ a person to sit by the button and reset it every time it cut out, until they spent another 200K or so rearranging the cooling towers.
