Reverse order of posts, why?

One of the frustrations I've found on this site is that sometimes the posts within a thread start at the beginning (which is logical) and sometimes start at the end of the thread. And sometimes you can be in the middle of a large thread and when you select the next page it can change to the opposite direction.

Sometimes the text gets blurry or moves around. Sometimes my spilling gets bad. This mostly happens at night.
