I've given up on waving. The only replies I ever get are from other D3's that look like they're used seriously. Toorak tractor D3's don't even see me and the other models either don't see me or give me a blank look.:(
But Fifi, if I see a white D3 covered in Frangipanies I'll be sure to wave:wasntme:

Heading home solo (wife clever and opted to fly instead ) to Brisbane sunshine when I espied a P38 in LH lane just cruisin'...albeit quite slowly...headlights and front fogs ... probably doing 60 kmh to my steady 95kmh :angel: rego was "Wild 1" ...gave the friendly toot and continued by...only later, over a liesurely brekky in Port Macquarie did I ponder whether "Wild 1" was in need of some assistance ... my apologies if it was someone out there who needed help...
We went to town yesterday.
Saw 3 130's, 2 110's, 2 Disco's, 1 Freelander, 1 early Rangie and 1 near new Vogue.
I waved to them all as always. I got a wave back from the Vogue.
I wave to them all. Other half thinks I'm mad, but I already know that!
Yes Ron, no one recognises the P38 as a Range Rover strait away. I wave to Range Rover classics, but not to P38's. They look to much like Toyotanissans. RRC, series 1, 2, & 3, County, Defenders, and sometimes discoveries will usually get my wave, but not anything else like later RR, or RR Sports, or Freelanders. More because I do not immediately recognise them until I take a second look. If I pull up next door to one at traffic lights will usually wave though. Sometimes they have given me nasty looks in return.Quote:

It can be a problem if your Land Rover wave becomes a reflex action.
I sometimes I forget that I am in my To**ta Camry and get some odd looks when I instinctively wave at a Land Rover.
I was in the victorian High country between Christmas and New Years in my D2 and friend in a white 4" lifted GQ. Saw a few Land Rovers and waved but the response was a bit light on. My passenger who is GQ owner took delight in ridiculing me at the lack of return waves from Land Rover drivers. Interesting observation when driving in rural SA most 4WDs no matter what breed will either initiate or at least return a wave. Maybe it is not the done thing in rural Vic?
