Diesel usage Td5 - pleasantly surprised

As posted in another thread, I had to take my rx7 to Brisbane yesterday. Car weights ~1300kgs and the trailer ~550kgs. Had to drop the 7 off and bring back a midget on the same trailer. Average Diesel usage was 12.7 l / 100 but would have been better as I did not calc most of the return trip (long story).

I think this is a great result and here it how it was done -

    - Clean all sensors with proper cleaner, allow to fully dry or blow with compressed air.
    - Inflate tyres - fronts were set to 41 and rears to 46.

This was the only items changed from the terrible readings I was getting previously......so .5 L / 100 for towing 1.8+ ton. In any ones books, that's got to be good.

Ohh and to all that waved - If I was driving, you got one back or I initiated. Those that didn't get a return wave, and I especially mean the Landy that flashed AND frantically waved , my bro in law was driving and didn't understand the importance of the return Landy wave....

You would have know it was me - Bright purple car heading north, Red speedway car heading South

    Cheers

yes its good the economy of the td5...

chip it up right and you get more power than the toymota in the same class AND you can still have the fuel economy...
