Seen as you seem to know the streets.
We(the family) built a house in Bellvue Tce,one street back from Hampton Rd,basement to bring it to street level then double storey.
We could see over the wall into Freo prison.
One afternoon whilst doing child slavery for the father shots were heard.
We saw 4 prisoners jump the wall.They ran thru our property after scaling our back fence and decamped very quickly.
Several nites a week,at around 10pm,there was a huge uproar from the prisoners,yelling screaming banging the bars.
Turned out a young lady who lived in the flats next to Monument hill was doing a striptease for the boys on her balcony.
Unfortunately for the boys inside the old bill shut her down.

Aah.......................Meekathara. Once visited never forgotrten! I remember when Tamie Fraser, the Prime Ministers missus described it as "The end of the Earth" and copped all sorts of flack. Though in all fairness she was probably being unfair to places like Sowetto, The Black Hole of Calcutta, Roeburne etc

Did my bit for anti whale kiling protests last time camping on the South Coast.
4 Japs camped adjacent to us.We did say hello a few times but they turned thier heads and did not say hello or want to TRY and comunicate.
Maybe they couldnt speak english,hope they could read english,as the next morning the hire car they had had SAVE THE WHALES drawn in the red mud,both sides

.
Pity they decamped at daybreak as I would have loved to get a pic.
MANY miles to a carwash down there
