They were made in Perth.Perkins turbo diesel and Dana running gear.Originally ran 9.00x16 tyres, but went to a larger diameter rim later when the 9.00 tyres became hard to buy in WA.
They were popular with mining exploration companies, minesite transport and off-road tourist coaches. The bodies were all modular, ranged from single cab, dual cab, triple cab,bus and ambulance bodies.
Shame they are not still made.
Very tough, biggest problem was they were a tad overweight.

I like the look of this too, http://www.diskdrive.co.za/new_launc...ender_147.html
It looks abit like a Blackpool built Podmore Grumpy 1.2 ltr 4x4 convertable unit, which in five minutes can be converted from a fish and chip van to a moblie toilet block or caravan and even a mobile cinema other options in there broshure are easi clean wheels, AM/LW radio cassette with one speaker which doubles as a PA system when being used as a nosey parker gov snooper vehicle, sealed beam torch and belt hook.
I thought they were finished too. That's great.
Good to hear.
The factory in Bibra Lake sat empty for years.Good to see somebody bought them out.

Yep. We're members and all.
The new NT model has a V8 Cummins which meets the current Euro 3 standards with an Allison auto on the back. OKA had a bit of trouble with the upgraded axles the sourced from Europe somewhere. Dunno why they didn't keep the Dana's. The version we have is called a multi-cab, double bed fits in lengthways in the cab. Also come in tray, single cab and bus variants. You should see the transfer case, no kidding its bigger than a VW engine and is made by a Vickers offshoot for an armoured car. Certainly one tough 4WD.
