    Plastic slide material

    Can anyone tell me the name of the stuff that can be used as a slide material, it makes it easy to to get things like drawers and such to slide, I think it's plastic or poly or something, usually white and it comes in strips.

    Teflon would be the slipperiest (plastic), it's used for boat skids as well

    Ring a plastics supplier and they will establsih what you need.

    I got some a couple of years ago and I mentioned slides on boats and they new what I was after, it is a poly something. The one I got was black. You can always go down and get some of the plastic chopping boards (usually white) , I think they are made of the same stuff

    Teflon or nylon plate.

    if you're good with the hacksaw, hand file and sandpaper on a glass block you can find it cleverly disguised in your wifes pantry as a white plasticy looking cutting board....

    head thyself downto a warf and ask the fishies where they get theirs from

    the 13mm/half inch stuff works great and you can occasionally pick up a cutting deck thats been broken for near on nix.

    In the days before steel drawer runners in the cabinet industry, we used to use laminate [Laminex or similar] Cut into strips & glued to both surfaces. Lasts forever. I'm sure you would get free off cuts from your local kitchen manufacture. The only trouble you will have will be keeping the drawers closed.

    the material that you need is polyethelene or polypropelene
    they have an oily feel ,and resist things sticking to them hence they are very slippery and durable
    plastic fabricators in your area will be able to help
    they will probably have some off cuts you could have or be very cheap

    Polypropelene is the stuff, the ones you see in most chest of draws etc is nylon

    I proberly have some at work
