Not an email, or SMS, a letter.
Not a bill or a statement, an invitation, or mass produced Xmas note, it was communication by an old fashioned letter.
Handwritten. A stamp. Handwritten envelope. I thought these had died out last century, but not so.
Transpires to be a former neighbour just conversing by letter, which is neither here nor there. But I don't know the last time I've had an exchange by this means.
Pen-pal days at primary school perhaps?

Possibly because of my age (and hence the age of contacts) it is not unusual for me to get handwritten letters.
But I have to admit most of what I send is typed; I can type faster than I can write - and it is readable!

What about telegrams! I was sent one a bit over 3 years ago from my sister in Bendigo.
Love e- mail, but most people I write to do not have a e-mail adress. going to writeletters on computer and print them out. I still get a lot of letters by snail mail, and do not mind, but if I had e-mail adress would use that.
I am now often writing my e-mail adress on handwritten letters, just incase these people start using a computer. My handwriting is not good so I use "print" for writing, instead of "running writing," as it is more legible.
Perhaps if I ever write to "Ron" [unlikely], I will use "running writing" so he does not pick up all my spelling mistakes.
