    polished concrete DIY?

Just wondering if anybody has done their own or if anyone on here does it?
Got a slight delema with our place where building, just about to start on cabinetry and thought we'd pull up the plastic and felt that has been protecting our burnt slab (it has been burnished and sealed, thats the look we were going for) and it looks carp, much different from when we first sealed it and covered it, so we think the only way to fix it is to give it light grind and light polish to remove the sealer and repair the surface, then re seal it.
What we don't want is the exposed aggregate look, i understand it will get a salt and pepper look but that is ok.
    Any advice on DIY

    Polished Concrete

    Damien,
The actual grinding & polishing takes a bit skill and practice. You could hire the gear and do it yourself but if you're fussy you may not like the outcome. To get a great job you would be better paying someone who knows what they're doing (make sure you check references).
The sealing is easy enough as long as you're patient and follow the instructions.
I can help with sealer and info if you cant make sense of what other people tell you.

thing is we don't really want that polished to marble/glass like look, we were happy with and want the burnished look (dark marbling effect). when the sealer went on all this white concrete marks came up and got worse over time, looks great wet but not dry.

Nah Paul doesn't agree, he wants to see it finished the same way we want. This is just about to put the last nail in the coffin for me
Permit finishes in 6 weeks, tiles we chose for one wall in the bathroom won't be in australia unitl the start of april, the timber veneer we chose for the kitchen is a 4 week wait, and then we still have to make the doors and get em painted, now this bloody delema, can't start putting cabinetry down until this floor is fixed
