    insurance

Who's using what insurance mob. I'm with the RACV but for some obscure reason my premiums keep increasing even though the car is getting older and in 8 yrs I've owned said beast I've had one small claim.
It's starting to really peeve me (no swearing! how good am I?)

    Shannons.

Easy to deal with and they will increase the value of your car with anything you add to it.

I go through an insurance broker with all my insurances. The one broker. He knows if I am dissatisfied they all go to another broker (as I have done before) so he looks after me.
Apart from one, which is with Shannons.

    regards
    Mick

The longer you stay with an insurance company the more they rip you off. It doesn't matter which one, I'm convinced they are all tarred with the same brush- after 30 years dealing with probably 8-10 of them.
My father stayed loyal with the one company for 20 years who were charging him $3,000 in 1998 to insure his properties. He never asked for a better deal & when he passed away that year I rang around & prices from other companies averaged $950.00..
Every 2 years we shop around. If you think they will look after you because you are a long term customer, your dreamin...

    Shannons (again ^^^).

Had my 74 RRC with GIO, no complaints with anything from them but they didn't want to insure something so old and sent a proposal from Shannons.

To cut a long story short with Shannons I now have the same basic comprehensive policy I had with GIO, including free salvage rights if written off, with nearly double the agreed value at nearly half the cost.

There's also none of the bs you get with other insurers when you list any mods. They know that a 350 is a mod and not an 'accessory' aka GIO.

DJ......... I've never had the issues you describe (RACV, VACC, GIO with cars and Zurich then QBE with house insurance).

    cheers, DL

i am in second year with gio and even got them to drop the renewal $200 with a claim being processed. als the claim process was harmless and repair completed quickly.
always good to ring around for the best price then go back to your current provider and ask them to match.

    cheers

There is no loyalty with any insurer anymore.
Fees go up if you are low risk or not.
I shop around yearly and show no loyalty either.
I just changed to ANZ bank for my Disco.
Not sure who their underwriter is but I now pay $395 p/a.
Full comp on 65% no claim and $200 excess.
I shopped around and found thats good enough for me.
Shannons would not go for it as I had more than 5 infringement notices in last 5 years.
    Bloody speed cameras.
