roos are smarter than you think......
they know how solid the old cars are....and they much prefer the new ones cos they are softer.......and dont hurt as much......
just glad to hear no one was hurt......and all turned out ok in the end.....
Why is it nothing ever happens to the older vehicles and when you get a new one this happens
I was taking my good wife to Mudgee for X rays and a bloody huge grey roo shot up from a ditch and I collected him doing over a 100 kmh
I had no bull bar as not available yet.
The MN survived surprisingly well as most of the impact was on the A bar, lower bumper, tyre, flare and side step.
I opted not to swerve and take it on as was on a blind bend.
We are all OK and the car will buff out fine.
If I was only in the 120"![]()

Obviously you did the right thing and did not swerve.
Very common though; I ran into my niece and her husband from Merrygoen in Dubbo on Wednesday - they were in a very downmarket farm ute. They had just dropped the family car off at the panel beater after a similar incident, a week later than planned because the panelbeater was overwhelmed by the number of roo strikes.
I actually got one a fortnight ago, but only a glancing blow with the LH front wheel of the 110 while I was doing about 40kph - he kept going, but would have been very sore, and no damage at all to the 110. Not like last time, when one hit it behind the LH back wheel while I had nearly stopped to allow his mates to cross ahead of me.
