I know of at least one round here still in occasional use on a farm, and there are probably more around. Apart from the problem of needing two operators, they don't stand the power and hence operating speed of most modern tractors, and if you hit something solid they bend or break instead of stopping.

Here's one found off the bottom end of the Birdsville Track, not Land Rover, don't know what it is though the writing on the gearbox may give a clue.

PS as for the car it was george (??oldfield) car and apparently last trip was rabbit trapping in 60's... so Im told... Ill remember his correct name soon....its not oldfield, he only died recently...
