I may have some old cylinder head bolts in that size. I'll check.
Over 4" in 7/16 UNF can be difficult to find off the shelf.
In my experience, bolt stockists usually only have UNF bolts in high tensile grades. The most common is SAE, grade 5 (close enough to metric class 8.8). the other common grade is SAE, grade 8 (similar to class 10.9).
With bolts, higher permissible tensile strength will also result in higher permissible shear strength.
There are many reasons besides tensile/shear strength as to why a bolt or a bolted connection may fail - e.g. incorrect (too low) pre-tension.
