    New NSW child restraint laws

This would have be a very well kept secret

These laws will have consequenes for a lot of people

LR drivers may have issues with fitting child restraint anchor points.

Having an old 87 RRC I know how hard and expensive it is to have 1 ancor point installed let alone 3 if you have an older LR and 3 kids under the age of 7

Child restraints for more info on the laws

Why would it have any additional effect except to make people buy a booster seat? Booster seats are not anchored using restraing points, they elevate the child so that the lap sash seatbeltt fits across the lap and chest.

Some booster seats use a top tether point & have a harness too (like the regular capsules). That's the type I'll be getting soon for Little Scouse.

    Convertible booster seats:

It is interesting to see the amount of new restraints that have hit the market, it is surprising that these laws have not been advertised widely.

In NSW you can take your child out of a child restraint a lot earlier. I can't remember the age and could not find it,

However the major change is mandating that children up to the age of 7 must be in a child restraint.

Until very recently restraints are not available for older kids.

Children aged four years to under seven years must be secured in forward facing child restraint or booster seat.

Unfortunately here in NSW we are a bit slower to take the mark and it will be law on the 1st of March but I don't think many NSWaliens know it yet, a lot of people around here have their kids ride in the front and back using a normal seat belt and they are younger than 7
