		Service Department says....

The GXH50 engine (as in the EU10i) is an alloy bore, with a coated piston.

Honda spec' the engine (bare) at 50hrs oil intervals as they have no control of application, whereas in the generator they do, and have made the oil interval longer ... the EU10i has oil alert ... the bare GXH50 engine doesn't. Even though the engines are the same (upper end) they have different crankcases. Both use 250ml of oil.

The EU20i is a CI bore.

The EU Hondas actually need to be run under load to perform properly. Run them under light or no load, even when just testing and the plug will soot up. We have protocols in place in the SES and mining when checking them to run them under load when weekly checking.

Castrol Edge is no good.
I run it in my D2.
Its fully synthetic!!!
I was hoping to run it in everything for ease of purchase.

		From handbook:
Use high detergent, premium quality 4-stroke engine oil, certified to meet or exceed U.S. automobile manufacturer's requirements for API Service Classification SG, SF.
Castrol site lube guide recommends Magnatec which is an API SM/CF as is EDGE. The SM/CF replaces the API SG, SF standard. Given I don't need more than a litre I'll probably just buy a bottle of Magnatec.
Hour meter is also going on the purchase list.
