I am the greatest sceptic and cynic ever born and I too used to take astrology with a big pinch of salt until recently.

A relatively new lady friend who is heavily into astrology and numerology did what she called an 'in-depth' reading of me. Surprisingly the process took about an hour. And the detailed way in which she 'linked' different personal dates to the stars and 'my' numbers off the top of her head to come up with very accurate detailed individual summaries of my various character traits and why which me had me speechless.

But it was the overall result which stunned me.

She came up with most complete, accurate character assement of me that I have ever seen as to be unbelievable.

I'm not saying that I am now a convert, I'm not, but there is more to this astrology stuff than meets the eye.

Na she is just good at "reading" people and because you know her it is easy for her

On reflection not such a strange question, the hospital clocks would only have to be out by a minute to change the day.

I've got a french friend who is a Sagittarius because the french town he was born in only did cesareans on a Wednesday.

SWMBO did a lot of Astrology and studied it for some time, I agree, some of the things she came up with and would not have known at the time were very spooky, it led me to believe that there may well be a connection between our lives and the stars

Good on you RichardK. You seem to understand where I am coming from. For me the truly outstanding feature of what she did was in those facets of my character and my decades of history which she revealed and which she could have absolutely no prior knowledge of.

Hey Sparkesdisco. Yes- I have seen The Mentalist on tv as well as some documentaries on the subject and over the years I have undertaken some reading on the subject which places astrology/body language/body interpretation under critical analysis. As far as interpreting my body language goes. She hardly looked at me [I was looking for this so I could shoot her down] as she was writing on paper to explain things and I also made a conscious effort to remain impassive and immobile so that I did not give the minutest clue away.

Now I know that the stars are just huge gaseos buring giants [billions of them] and that the moon and planets are huge dense lumps of rocks orbiting our sun [another star] but how these inaniminate objects could effect or interpret my character, my past and my future behviour/character is beyond my understanding.

Yet having said all that my lady in question did not go into predictions at all. She totally avoided any reference to the future and instead restricted herself to character and behaviour. And she was deadly accurate! I remember once many years ago having to undergo a psyche evaluation and testing process so I could undertake a particular activity. In hindsight it seems that the guy who undertook that day long testing ended up with less knowledge of my character/behaviour than the lady and her astrology did in an hour. Now that scares the living daylights out of me.

I have no faith in astrology whatsoever. It kind of puts a dent in their studies when new planets are found and other ones are deemed not be planets anymore...
