Steve the defender has 120 k on it. The service has gone from the ridiculous to laughable. The brakes now have to be redone, rotors and pads. I accept the brakes are a consequence of driving and there is no problem there. But as you know SWMBO hates even the mention of Land Rrovers. I must have been a very naughty boy in my previous life.

How long did you say you have had the LR?
Sounds like the previous owner may not have looked after it. The only reason disc rotors would fail at that mileage is if pads were worn right down, metal on metal. I have 150,000kms on mine an the rotors still have lots of meat. I cahnge the pads regardless every 60,000kms wether they really need it or not and more often if needed.
Maybe a good opportunity though to upgrade to better discs, look at it as positive.
How have you gone with the regulator?

I'm getting these curious and increasingly terse emails from your SWMBO at work and I'm not getting too much in the way of replies. In fact I think the last one was a one liner with "check carsales"

I really do feel your pain. I hope you can sort it and SWAMBO before it ends up on the net. I'll pm you my number and you are welcome to call. I have some very knowledgable LR friends .

One thing I am sure of is that MR is a good repairer and they will be doing their best for you. My car goes there in a month or two for it's yearly so maybe I'll get bit on the arse too.
