First time going 4WD with my Rangie

    Hi All,

Thought I would share the experience of my first two off road days as a driver - even as a passenger I haven't done what I did in the last two weekends - just gone up hills before that had a wash out here & there.

Since getting my new-to-me rangie I had wondered what it could do - with out pushing too hard of course. So Toolangi was called in to action Having never been up there, first time I was guided with another mate in his 4WD & the second myself & 3 other mates with a forby each as well - all with recovery gear.

Below are the pictures - they say more then I could really lol The most intense was coming down rocky track - took the centre till I saw the channel & then took the easier run down on the far left. Did some bog holes for experience - but all in all the rangie performed awesome - didn't even look like it could have gotten stuck. And I have to admit - the 4.6lt V8 thats in her is just awesome out in the bush!!

    Enjoy!

Excellent Rangie, and looks like a lot of fun, where was it? A beautiful area from the looks, did you see much wildlife?
And what tyres were you running?

Was out east side of Melbourne up in Toolangi state forest. It is beautiful up there - growing back from some of the blacksaturday fires. So not much wildlife - but then the rangie so sooo loud it all ran away before I got there I am sure

The tyres are Maxxis Buckshot mudders - 265/75/16 total is close to 32 ~ 33'

I put more pics of the rangie here http://www.aulro.com/afvb/members-ri...ml#post1173353

The other 4WD's were a Ford Mav(red), 60's landcruiser is the blue & 80s series landcruiser in white - all good fun

Welcome to the LR/RR experience, they are the best 4x4 from the box and when they have good tyres like the Maxxis Buckshot mudders thay perform fantastic.
Thank you for sharing the nice photos with us.
