Depends what you mean by "normal" mail. Sea/surface mail or economy air?

I have posted quite a few parcels via economy air from Germany-AU (no sea/surface option). They are supposed to only take 11-15 days, however have taken up to 3 months on a few occasions!!! I suspect they have gone sea mail by accident.

I guess this is obvious, but do you have any sort of reference number that you can track it with, or get onto the supplier.!!!

    Air mail, 7-14 days.
    Sea mail, 3 months.

I was lucky enough to have a part sent from the US via surface. Someone at the post office wrote in the wrong country code, so it took over 6 months via england... Lucky I didn't need it in a hurry.

In my experience, air mail parcels from the US are usually the slowest (and most expensive) compared to the UK or Europe.

Most things I have got from the US take 3-4 weeks to get to Perth.

I start asking questions after 4 weeks.

    it depends on your luck.

if all the shipping lines up you can get things in as little as 6 days.

if it doesnt then you can expect out to 3 months.

The Better half not long ago bought and sold heaps of stuff ex USA on Ebay, USPS was a farce. Some US states have worse postal services than a russian satellite state during the cold war
I would panic just yet sounds typical to me...

Never had a problem with mail from US states that border on the sea. Anywhere inland doesn't have that visual proof that places other than the US exist.
