7g. Is that all. I've just spent over 8g on that little crappy thing I had at Firth Park.
I still have problems but it ran well before and it will run well again.

My advice to you would be to park it somewhere. If you need a daily drive, buy a Magna or Camray. I've seen good Magnas for less than 4g.

When things improve, have another look at the disco.

Prob is Mick that 7g I didn't have and had to borroow it from my mum & dad which my dad has ms and mums the only worker. Will be paying them back for the rest of my life and not to mension paying other ppl as well for parts and what have you. Just doesn't end for me and this truck

I see the problem and feel the pain.. About to go through it myself.. But... It aint the cars fault mate. Some times, it just doesnt work... Hang on to it for a little while. I know it seems easier to give up now, but it will just cost even more in the end. Just put it aside if you can, let it sit... Then come back to it.

I wont vote in the poll Simon. I think you need to make this decision with your wife. Good luck with whatever you decide

Hello Mate I voted that you keep it.
You have placed a lot of $$$ as well as time and no Doubt TLC into this vehicle.
Persistance is and Tenacity are traits I believe you have in droves.

You have done a remarkable job too date on maintaining your Landy and I believe too sell it now would leave you with the dillema of finding and sorting out another vehicle.

Have a coffee, give the wife and kids a hug, look at the photo,s you have when you have been out in the Landy and remember the good times.

Slow down and relax as the bad times will I can assure you improve.
I say this from experience as some forum members who know me personally can attest.

I had cancer years ago and beat it:-)
I had heart bypass 6 years ago and have been back at work full time for 5 and a half years.
My wife of 22 years left me 9 months ago for a younger faster man, but I have my mates, my kids and most of all my Disco and this forum.:-)

Life is goooood but it is not fair or just.

I have learned to slow down and enjoy the little things.

I feel your pain. Actually I recognise it, thought I must've posted up a thread myself under a ficticious alias..........

Just to give you some comfort in misery, we've had to repair / replace over 8.5g worth of stuff (incl. reco zf auto, whole new cooling system, new rear hubs, new this, new that). The car cost me 12g 3 years ago. So, we're getting pretty close to that with repairs .

We're heading for a long trip with the family in 18mths to 2 years and the decision is get rid of it now and build something else up or keep perservering with the disco.

We've had a long sit down (me and the missus), and have decided to hang onto the disco as we'll be close to having a new car soon with the amount of stuff we've had to replace .

My suggestion, FWIW is to keep the car, if you can walk away and have a long think about the most important things in life. If the most important things include going bush or beach with friends and family, then keep it. If on the other hand the most important things don't include 4wding then "catch ya later disco" and continue to make good on your family debt.

And dont stress about that other matter we spoke about just yet , Just sort yourself and your car out first

I believe best cause of action, write a list.

Does not matter what we think, none of us are in your shoes at the moment.

Look from the outside in and figure out on your list of your issues where the Disco sits.
Perhaps just sit it aside for a little while.

Get your other problems sorted one by one.
If any one here can help we shall try.

Perhaps seek some help to get back on track and focus on the positives in live. I am sure there are many as by the sounds of it, you are marries and have family.
Get some strength from that.

Make a list of good things also and focus on those.

Trough process of elimination, time and the right support you will soon be back on your feet and be thinking positively and the issues you are having with your car will seem minor and hopefully soon be laughing about them.

Trust, many of us have been in tough spots and I can talk from experience.
Take a deep breath, think positively and make that list and start croosing stuff off as they are addressed.
