    map update

I have the disco 3 SE 2005 so sadly no maps, GPS, reversing camera or blue tooth. My other car Lexus RX was simply replacing the old map disk with the new map disk. I think the hardware is under the passenger seat in your car. I assume if it is like my other car that it is like a normal external DVD drive. Trying to get third party installed maps, camera and blue tooth as they are very helpful. I am looking at a VMS option which might be developed to fit Discovery 3s. I want Toppo off road maps as well which is why VMS is looking good for me if they deliver.

The maps in the RX were helpful even on some slightly dirty roads it was capable of getting on . The rx maps were SENSIS which were fairly good. Updates are a pain but new roads being built mean they are required. How much for the updated maps are you being hit for?

I have a 2005 D3 (plated 06) with "factory" Sat Nav. Can't be updated without new box & OS, or so I have been told. If you have any luck, I would love to hear. Till then Navman MY55T sits nicely on D3 screen.

Went there, Site said V16 was compatible with all years of Discovery 3.
Not so, V14 was not compatible with my 06 (plated) D3. That was in 2008. WhereIs confirms V16 is same format as V14.
I will ask LR why again when it is serviced next month. Last answer was needs complete new Operating System $1500.00.
Navman remains on dash for the moment.

Hi there, did you have any joy with your discs. I was given v15 last week and haven't been able to get anything but a fuzzy screen. I put the v10 disc back in (after disconnecting the battery leads for 10min) and it works OK. No one seems to know what I'm talking about when I ask if it is compatible with 2005 D3

    Dear Dan

Thank you for contacting Sensis and apologies for the delay response.
Unfortunately, we are in the process of negotiating for a new map version compatible with Range Rover Discover/Sports/Vogue vehicles with the Navigation manufacturer.
We have been advised that it’s most likely Land Rover will now skip Version 17 & 18 and release Version 19 and will be released early / mid next year. The release date is being negotiated between Land Rover and the navigation system vendor and not controlled by us.
Version 16 map updates is the current update for Discovery 3 vehicles, unfortunately we are currently out of stock on this item. Please continue to visit our website www.whereismaps.com regularly for further information/availability on upcoming release dates on our map updates.
Thank you for your time and apologies for any inconvenience.
Please do not hesitate to contact us on: 1800 819 471 should you require further assistance or have further enquiries,
    Kind Regards

OK so if LR and WhereIs can't get their act together why do we have to wait another year???

Has anyone got a v16 DVD - if so we can copy it as a backup and put into our SatNav systems until they do get their act together.

Please PM me if you have a v16 available for back up purposes?

I've had all sorts of dramas with the nav in my RRS (2006). Bought the "update" disk from sensis, which is version 16, $300! Now have no nav at all, the screen just displays an error message reading, not a nav dvd. Put the old disk in and nothing changed! Rang ULR, they quoted $2,500.00 for a new dvd player, thanks for the help.
Now I give up, will wait and update the whole radio/cd/nav when a dab+ double din comes in at a reasonable price.
