    Well spit-al goes all hard and crusty around the edges of the sucker and then the lot falls off after a day or so.

    Think viscosity washing liquid however works great - just a little to coat the sucker and the thicker liquid must fill the little gaps that form between the sucker and window and keep it sealed.
