The reason I ask is because it comes with Route66, and TBH, its pants!
Would like to replace it with either TomTom (I have tri-monthly map update subscription) or iGO, or similar. I also have a TomTom XL unit which really is fantastic on road, but would like to try and get the HEMA running a good road nav system. Route66 just doesn't cut the mustard! Not even close!!

This is my first encounter with WIN CE and I really don't have a clue.
Most other Windows OS and I'm generally pretty good.
Any tips or advice most appreciated....

Is Route66 located on the SD card? If so, you could probably remove it and replace it with iGO, ensuring that it stays under the Route66 folder, and you rename igo.exe to what the file is that starts Route66.

I have the new HEMA HN5i and find it nice and easy to use,and I really like the iGo primo for the street mapping and find the interface very intuitive,which is something I needAnd the unit apparently has been completely changed compared to the earlier models.
I am probably different to a lot of other people,but I like Memory Map for its simplicity of use,but the new Ezi Ozi interface is also easy to use,and whilst not offering all the bells and whistles of the full Ozi Explorer,probably makes it less complicated for the average user.

I fixed this problem by selling my HEMA on ebay and getting a "Ranga" special.

LowRanger have you tried the HN5i off the main roads etc? I will be looking for a GPS unit that can handle non main roads and from what I have found, this unit is very good.
I am told that the GPS units are either main road or country roads (outback), but not both. However the HN5i does handle both.
Intersted in your thoughts and those of others.

if you send your HN5 to Hema they will up grade it to HN5i specs and this gets rid of Route 66 and installs Igo but it will cost you $250. I just got mine back yesterday. pm me if you want to test drive it before upgrading yours.

Love their maps, but can't understand the cost of the hardware and service
