I have used lots of Sat Navs. We currently have Tom Tom, Navman and another brand I cant think of right now.
I have been using them since they were available on the market. I much prefer the Navman and the current one, My75 is very good. I dont use it much now as my car has a built in unit in the radio. The Navman also has Hema tracks (not to be confused with Hema maps) built in.

If you are looking for value for money, these are hard to beat. You just have to be prepared to install whatever programs you want.

I have run Garmin, TomTom, Igo8 and Igo 8.3. At the moment I am running Igo Primo for onroad and OziExplorer for offroad.

Does it need to be weatherproof at all? I've had a good run with a Garmin Zumo 660. It is specifically a motorbike GPS, which means it is easy to operate even with gloves on (or if you have fat fingers), and it is weather proof.

I've used it on 2 big trips through Germany/Holland/Poland and it was brilliant. It comes with a motorbike fitment kit, and also has a std suction car mount kit, so I just unclip it form the bike and straight into the car.
