Ozi Explorer freezes on my laptop

I have Ozi Explorer on my Think Pad and run this connected to my Garmin GPS 76 through a USB port.

When using Moving Map it works fine for a while then it just freezes up and stops tracking. I then have to reboot to get it going again.

I am no tech head but is there something I can do to get it stop freezing up?

I just got a new Dell 15R running Windows 7 through an Insurance claim.
    Ozi freezes on that too....

So is it the laptop or the program that freezes? Can you move the mouse and still use the start menu? What happens if you press ctl alt del keys all at once?

Try contacting the Ozi people, I hear they are very helpful. A friend of mine couldn't get his to work in win7 so they sent him patches for it.

I had the same problem on after I loaded Ozi from my original CD (bought about 5 yrs ago) onto my Panasonic Toughbook.

Problem appears to be rectified now after I loaded the latest upgrade ( Ver 3.95.4 +) from the Ozi website.

    Thanks for the info guys.

Mine is an old Think Pad and is running Windows XP. I will try and get in touch with Ozi and see if they have an upgrade that will fix the problem. When moving map freezes you can still move the mouse and open and close other programmes and functions. It is just the map that freezes and does not track.

Funny how it always seems to happen when you are coming up to an intersection or fork in the track

I'm running XP Pro on the Toughbook and it was doing exactly as you describe, until I uploaded the latest version from the Ozi website. Version was 3.95.4+ ............... I think.
