A few AULROians have done a bit - myself included.
Certainly not a full on geocacher but if time permits during a trip I'll include a few geocaches - certainly adds a bit of interest to your trips and often leads to some interesting places.
Hello everybody
Just wondering how many members do or have done geocaching.

I have tried using my mobile phone but its only accurate to about 100 metres.
My garmin etrex is great for geocaching accurate to 2 metres on most occasions. Only downfall is u cant upload data to it
I don't but have found where a few caches that are on my regular trip stops.
I inform the muggles what they are so they get left in place.
One day when I get some time I may look into it further.
If planing trip out of my home patch I sometimes look at the geo sites for locations.
The coments of "nice veiws", "what a wonderfull spot" often get added to the trip

We have in the past and found it a great way to explore areas and see things only the locals know about, even in places we've been before.
Give it a try!
We were considering dropping a few in along the Arnhem highway and around Gove later this year, if time permits. The whole area is void of them

Modern treasure Hunt.
Could be replaced supplemented by " something beginning with"

As a point of interest - many geochaches probably lost during Clean Up Australia Day last week-end. I know of two in The Gap that are gone. Picked up by avid cleaners who didn't know what they were and bagged for the tip.
