    Mounting arrangement for iPad

    While technically not GPS related, by extension it is. I plan to set up navigation software on an iPad and mount the iPad to the defender.

    I saw a pic of Drover's set up. Ipad Positioning for GPS

    By-and-large Drover's set up is where I'm heading. Can people offer comment on their set up, whether it works, what would they do better, brand of mounts that haven't survived off road travel, brands that have survived off-road.

    Pics are worth a 1000 words.

    here is how i mounted the Ipad you can also use the camera on the go

    Just bought the ram mount off ebay $99 plus post works a treat

    Mick (cal415) has a neat windscreen mount that i quite liked. fitted well in the defender.

    Is that mounted using one of those flexible stalks that attaches to a seat mounting bolt on the floor ?

    Kev I got my floor mount and twist lock windscreen mount on the way for my ipad in the otterbox 146bux delivered
    Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

    Hi Wal Rat - curious about the mounting system. How is it attached to the truck, is it prone to breakage on corrugations and/or off-road. How secure is the iPad in rough conditions?

    The mount is seat bolt type you have to bend the aluminum bar at sharp angles
    To help with the vibration I also have a small piece of foam supporting it at the closest point to the dash.I have lots of videos taken on some very rough tracks
