    2003 Magellan Meridian Gold

Why has the detail on my GPS gone? All I get is major roads & water courses. It used to show all roads, tracks, rail lines etc but now they're gone I know it's old but it still is better than a lot of the "updated" stuff around. I don't need it for city stuff but mainly for outback/offroad. When I did a trip in 2005 it had Walkers Crossing on it but now, gone. I've looked through the manual but can't find anything. Also, when I put a region on the SD card how do I access it with the GPS?

I have the exact same model and used it on a boat and then when I loaded land maps it developed a mind of its own and hasnt worked with detailed maps since.

I am keen to know what solution you find. sorry I cant help.

Thanks Brad. You've stopped my "why me" paranoia. I'll keep you posted if I discover a cure.

Your right about non of the current specs of GPS are as good as the old Meridian's. I have a platinum. I havent got your issue. Mine just randomly forgets its a GPS and loses the Sat's. And its new fault is a dry solder joint somewhere causing it to shut down at the slightest bump.
Wish Magellan would stop producing **** and just produce a new updated version of the meridian series. I am sure just in my family and circle of friends there would be atleast 10 upgrades.
