Thread: Google maps offline on Android phone

Was trying to find a way of downloading Google maps for times when no internet connection available.
I have version 7.0.2 for Android and if you zoom in on a map and type "ok maps" in the search field it downloads that part of the map for offline viewing. How simple

I just downloaded the map of Maui in 4 parts.

And if you install an Android application called NoniGPSplot which is free (there is a paid version offering a little greater functionality) you will find it utilises this functionality with Google, Bing, Yahoo or Open maps to get and store off line the maps of where ever you want within the context of a moving map GPS navigation system.
