    Best Street GPS App.

I tried to purchase a TomTom GPS App on the weekend,it came up as unsuitable for use on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S
Awaiting confirmation from TomTom to confirm.
What other street GPS apps are worth using, must be able to use offline like a car navigator,I dont think Google Street does this unless you pre-plan and save the trip.

Looking for one that saves the maps.
Have plenty of memory space, spend plenty of time traveling in non mobile phone areas.
    Cheers

I've got CoPilot on a tablet and phone. It's expensive but generally OK (and shedloads better then it was a few years ago), but I find the maps are often a little outdated. Their support is also woeful if you actually need it (I haven't needed it for years, but tried many times, with great frustration, when the product was first released). Other than that it has proved reliable in recent times.

When you say expensive,is it like $35.00 or are there futher costs????
    I have a 10" tablet,will it fill the screen???
There were comments on the Google play that say the script is too small.
    Thanks

It used to be more expensive from memory... $35 sounds quite reasonable. I also recall having to pay an amount to "upgrade" a few years ago when they changed something significant, but there haven't been any further costs, unless you need extra maps when travelling (which is to be expected).

I use the app on a 5" phone and a 7" tablet and the text is fine for me. It also scales well between the screen sizes. I haven't used it on a larger tablet but I'd imagine it would be OK.

I have co-pilot as well and have found it very good. I like that I only had to buy it once and can use it on all my devices (android phone, android tablet, iphone 5 and iphone 5s) I pay the extra $10 a year to get live traffic and it is especially useful in Sydney (I doubt you will want it Andy).

I think the extra maps are reasonably priced and purchased the whole of North America for about $40 (I go to east and west coasts),

Here on the east coast it seems to have a lot of the offroad tracks loaded in the maps and it is rare that a track I'm on doesn't show (they aren't always named though).
I have used support once and found the response to be timely and helpful.

I have used Co-Pilot for about 4 years now so of course it is what I am used to, others may be more user friendly and have better maps however this is what I have and so far I've been happy.

It scales fine on both phones and my 10" tablet and looks really impressive on the tablet.

    Hi,
I looked up TomTom for my Galaxy and Sygic seemed to be substituted for it, so I gave it a try.
I'm quite impressed with it all except I can't find the lock to keep the map 'north up'. It is listed in the instructions but I can't find it on the page.
I can lock it for viewing, but the moment I activate a route the map swings around to 'girley mode'. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
I'm waiting on a response from their help desk.

It ties in nicely with Wikicamps. Find a camp, press the navigate button and it hands over to Sygic and away we go.

    cheers

Try MetroView. MetroView Systems Pty Ltd

I have it for the iPhone but there is an Android version.

They appear to be lifetime maps as I've been getting regular free upgrades for the past couple of years. The maps are stored on your device.
