						Kev,
I had the same dilemma for the recent trip with my Lowrance, I ended up with a remote antennae which stuck to the windscreen courtesy of suction pads and left me able to leave the GPS on the centre console thus no need to drill holes etc and can be removed without a trace.
Hope this helps.

I pulled the suction-capped antenna mount off my windscreen and one of the suction caps pulled out of the mount and fell into the demister slot.Originally posted by RichardK

At the time it was being marketed as such. Now I think it's the IIa or something. I'll change it later.

Now, I remember seeing just suction caps for sale somewhere!! If I remember I'll post it.
....Goes away to check satay chicken isn't burning....
I've been using it on the Disco 11 and I don't think there is a vent I can lose it, I guess I could stick it anywhere on the screen as long as it can get signal

I use a Magellan Meridian, sits in a cheap phone holder suction capped to the windscreen. The holder stays put but i have to use a rubber band on rough roads to hold the GPS in it. The CB is screwed to a piece of wood as a spacer and srew to the top of the dash. When the remote head one comes it'll double sided tape to the interior light with my ham rig remote. The rubber mat goes back in the dash to hide the holes.

I use a Magellan Meridian platinum in my Disco 2.
I've got Magellan's windscreen mount and it sits right in the middle ontop of the dash.... works fine. I have had no dramas on corrugations... But then haven't done really long stretches of them.
One of these days I'll wire the power direct to the fuse box rather than using the poxy cigarette lighter plug..ops:
