Just wondered if anyone is into this ?
I often thought about having a try but don;t know if I would have the patience.

Not too much, but my Dad's dead keen, keeps his PDA loaded with caches wherever he goes. It's a bit of a treasure hunt - my kids love it. If you do give it a go, remember to take long some trinkets of some sort to swap for what's in the cache. Travel Bugs can be a bit of fun if you find one.

Ive done it as part of military exercises (IMHO it was the inspiration for it) Its not too bad but would probabley be far more enjoyable (from my perspective) if I didnt have to worry about running out of ammo(blanks) before getting there and getting contacted on the way....

I have had the chance to meet some people who were on a walk looking for one near where I was camped and it was cached in the middle of the camp ground but no-one on the trip i was on even saw it.Id be guessing that some would be quite hard to find..

I used to do it and even planted one that has since been removed. Been a while though.

They are more fun if they happen to be where you are going so can be done as a side event. As opposed to going out especially to find one.

There's also Confluence Points to visit. I'm trying to obtain permits to get to one soon.

Geocaching sounds fun but there is only one within cooee of here so that kind of limits things.

A confluence point is zero minutes, zero seconds latitude and longitude e 13S 136E. Follow The link in the previous post.

I'm looking at going to 13°S 136°E (look it up on Google Earth) but I need to get a permit from the NLC and it is like
