    TomTom 910

I see Supercheap are selling the TomTom 910 @ $799.00 (after $50.00 cashback).

It wasn't long ago these were over $1,000.00

Mind you the Navman GPS's have also dropped quite a bit at Supercheap

I'm going to Supercheap today to grab some oil...did you really have to tell me that before I'd been?

Have been trying to convince myself of late that I'm happy with the 500 still - but at this price it may be good to have and leave in the D3 with the 500 in the 110. I wonder if it has the new Australian maps - if so, it's a bargain compared to the price of them on their own!

I meant the new v6.5 (Sensis v13) maps, as opposed to the old (and very outdated in Perth!) v6 maps I have on my 500.

I did figure my UK and US maps wouldn't be much use here....

I bought my 910 some 7 -8 months ago, and I have the v6.5 maps so I would guess that it would have.

My uk maps aren't much use either.

I bought the Tom Tom 910 a week ago for $810.00
Great bit of kit the unit I have has the latest maps on it.
I use it for work and it has made my job a lot easier.
I like the alt route function and road block function has saved me some time waiting in traffic.

It links with my computer and Nokia phone no problem so it is very functional.

Have you got the media software to convert DVD's so you can watch it on your TomTom ????

It's called Media Studio for TomTom by Makayama, quite nifty, but I guess a bit gimikery given the small screen

What I'd have liked to have seen on the 910 was a wireless connection so I could update it via my DSL connection from the driveway...kept forgetting to take the 500 in and connect to the PC to get the latest speed camera maps. (Though not as much of a problem now I own a Defender!)

Oh, and incremental map updates via a subscription service would have been good too.

In the UK, the traffic service was excellent (Route planning taking into account near-realtime road conditions, and re-routing round jams), but it used the trafficmaster network, and I don't think there's an equivalent here?
